Eight ten. Two names on the list, nobody at the door. Reception calls once. The phone rings and nobody picks up. The open question is whether to cancel and bring the next person forward, or wait until 8:20. In those minutes the doctor asks where the patient is, and the nurse sets the room for a visit that may not happen.

An absence that is not recorded keeps the chair booked in theory

Some clinics leave the appointment “open” all day so the report still looks full. At closing the percentage is flattering, and the morning was empty. Late recording comforts the report and breaks the day. If the person has not arrived after the grace period the organisation actually uses, the state should be “did not come”, and the gap should be visible.

In Elite Care that grace period sits on the appointment. The reminder goes out the day before, or that morning, from the follow-up channel, not from an employee’s own phone. If they do not come, reception marks it and releases the time. The doctor sees the list as it is now, not as it was printed yesterday.

The count is not there so someone can scold people in a message. It is there so 8:00 does not stay empty for three Thursdays while the organisation still believes the book is full.
