An online booking, or a call late at night, takes the first gap it finds. If the week template is one block, a Friday 4pm gap exists in the system while the clinic locked the door at 1. The patient arrives. The door has a paper on it. The next call is not a booking. The next call is a complaint.

Each day has its own doctors and its own hours

Friday, Ramadan, and the day the doctor is in theatre elsewhere are exceptions reception already knows. The template does not. If the template is not broken for that date, it keeps selling time nobody will work.

In Elite Care the branch hours and the doctor’s hours are stored as they are, and a bookable gap is a gap that is actually open. Closing a day does not silently delete old appointments after the fact. It stops new booking, and the appointments already taken before the closure come out as a list so someone calls them, rather than surprising them at the door.

Copying one week onto the next saves two minutes on Sunday. It costs you patients on Friday. The two minutes are cheaper.
